hi anon! Yes! TINF will remain on sale, don’t worry. Thanks for planning to buy it!!! I hope it works out ;u;)))
If you can remember, how long in time did it take you to earn a Premium Membership? If you cannot remember, would you please give an guess or estimate? Thank you for your time.
Hello! I was initially contacted by MM, I think they noticed me because I was friends with a few premium artists. If you’re wondering how you can become a premium artist on MM you usually need to be a featured artist first, so check out their FAQ. I can’t give you an allotted amount of time because it depends on you. :D
Do you think you might ever start selling Selby charms in the store? Because I would totally buy them.
hiiii! I never actually thought about it! My charm sales went down a lot even before summer vacation, but if I ever sell the stock that I have I might consider it if I need to print more characters. :D I’m out-of-state at the moment but once I get back TINF charms will be on sale again!
thanks for the interest, though!!! Is there anyone else who might be interested in a Selby charm?
i feel like im asking for a lot but!! would you possibly be doing a bundle with the tinf book and stuff from your store?? i'd really like to give you all my money!! ; w ; (but im waiting for the postcards to get restocked and, evidently, now the book ahhh). i love tinf so much, gosh! everything is cute please never stop ; u ;
Hi Gyimcha!! You’re not asking a lot at all THANK YOU I’m happy you want TINF stuff!!! ;u;))) I’m posting this public in case others have the same question, since I think it’s a good one!
I actually didn’t think of having a bundle but I’ll totally put that together! I’m out-of-state until the end of the month (August) so the products I have will be ready for buying once I get back. :D I gave all of my mini prints (minus the red “Fancy Print which I have plenty of) to my friend to sell at Otakon but I’ll be selling all the extras online afterwards.
The book, though, will have to be separate because it will be printed/sold by MangaMagazine!
THANK YOU… ;u;))) I’m really glad you like TINF YOU’RE THE BEST melts into rainbow puddle of happy fkdjhf thanks for reading and for your interest ;u;)))!!!
duuude i am defs buying a hard copy of tinf the minute it presents itself! hope they're shipping internationally (canadian here... actually closer to the u.s. than mainland canada but still, we're considered international! haha so uncool) do you know how many chapters per volume?? -mimi
Hi Mimi!! THANKS SO MUCH I’M HAPPY IF YOU WANNA BUY IT… ;u;))) And yes! To my understanding, MM is having $6.00 worldwide (2 weeks) shipping. All the artists on MM are from so many different places I’m not surprised at all! :’D
I don’t have a specific number of chapters per volume planned but it’ll be 200 pages at most…this first volume has 9 chapters and 160 pages because I wanted all of my colored pages to be in one book and the black-and-white separate. :D (except my first chapter… sighs wistfully in its direction)
Comic process? Maybe? How you do everything, plan all your chapters and stuff?
Hello!! I’ve posted an example of my comic process here I think might answer your question!! :D
Just in case though, to elaborate, I usually come up with a general idea for a beginning, middle, and end for the chapters but I don’t write them word-for-word. One of the best advice I got about comics was don’t get too invested in your story…so, I don’t. Sometimes I write a summary and most of the time I daydream them until I can see them in my head like a movie… ///// I have trouble drawing a lot of things and can’t create everything in my head so I try to thumbnail at least half the chapter or 15 pgs beforehand so I know where it’s going and if my ideas can come out physically. :D
I hope that helps!! I think my process is in the post I linked and here…let me know if there’s anything else you’re curious about if you have another specific question. ;u;)))
yessss!! :D MangaMagazine is printing it for me and it’s a BEAUTIFUL printing job and it’s gonna be totally affordable for you guys, as far as comics go. I’M REALLY IMPRESSED HOW HIGH QUALITY IT IS I FEEL LIKE A REAL MANGA…I’M SUPER EXCITED
How much money do you make off of mangamagazine with TINF? Is it worth it?
Hi! The amount I make on TINF in a month is more than what I make in a month at my part time job and usually covers the rent for my apartment. It’s not enough for all my bills but along with my other job it supports me 100%. So yes, I consider it my main income and it’s 10000% worth it. :D
I saw your recent response to the question about finding a drawing style, so I have to ask then, what about in terms of writing? Having never really written much, I find myself always teeming with ideas in my head and then when I go to put them down, I never know where to begin. Is it a simply a matter of trying until you find a groove? Or is there some magical solution that eludes me? (I doubt it haha) Or is much like drawing in that you need to find a style and make it yours?
Hi Cythrosi!!! I’m not exactly the most qualified to answer this since I’m not much of a writer, but I’ve had very little experience so maybe I can share with you what I learned? I’ll make this ask public in case my writing followers have anything to add in the comments. :D
Once in 39843 yrs I’ll like to write for fun, but I did have a class that was half creative writing and half illustration and I learned a lot! My teacher told us that every idea has been done already but it’s never been done by YOU personally, and I think that applies to both writing and drawing. He also said not to worry about grammar (some writers are gonna kill me for saying that, haha) and I think that’s a good idea for initial drafts. (Plus, that’s what editors are for, right?? RIGHT… /crickets)
A huge issue I had when writing was also the beginning because I wanted to make it sound cool and have all my ideas organized! I realized if I just went in like I was telling a story and didn’t care about what was right/wrong/interesting, then I had an easier time. You can always move around ideas and change their order later—heck, I did that with this ask, even… LOL
Something I like to keep in mind is everyone has a different way of speaking. If you write down the way YOU speak, it’s a different “style” than my speech, right? I think everyone has a writing style just like everyone has a drawing style, they just need to find what they’re comfortable with—comfortable enough to have fun. :D I remember my teacher told us not to write like we were writing a paper for school, because papers for school contain words like “quite,” “moreover,” “subsequently,” and a bunch of other words/figures of speech you’d probably never be caught dead saying in a conversation.
I think writing until you find your groove is good but my main advice would be to just “talk”! Write like you’re telling me your story and I KNOW it’ll sound just like YOU and you’ll have an easier time. :D My writing style is how I talk, minus all the “uhms” and “likes” and general confusion… LOL…
Once you feel more comfortable in writing, I think it’d be just like drawing in where you feel comfortable first and refine later. So write and write and write and THEN re-read it, subtract/edit parts you think are boring, decide what you think would make it more interesting (more jokes/sass? less descriptions? more descriptions? more questions????), and fix grammar issues. :D I HOPE THAT HELPS…it’s what helps when I bother to write for fun, anyway! I can reply privately if you have any further asks/thoughts/questions if you’d like, especially since I’m unsure if I replied to your ask correctly. :D Best wishes!!!
hi nicole! just wanted to let you know that when i'm feeling down i re-read TINF and also go to this tumblr. your cheerful vibrant art and cheerful vibrant self just make me feel so much better when things suck! so thank you, very much. c: xoxo -mimi
HI MIMI omg it took me a while to respond to this because it’s SO NICE, like how do you respond to something so sweet in a way to properly convey your feelings IDK………wipes tear from eye…THANK YOU!! ;A;))) AHHH… fkdjhfd I’m happy if TINF (and me!!??? hides face ////) can cheer you up when you’re down! The main reason I wanted to make comics was to help people smile even for 1 second of their day so it means a lot to me… ;u;))) ♥ Although I’m really excited to help cheer you up, I hope things become less sucky so you can stay cheerful! You’re really sweet… ;A;))) Thank you for this message and brightening my day and I hope your day is bright too u wu))) ♥ BEST WISHES ILU ♥♥♥
